Finest Fabrics

Most "linen" shirts aren't this.

Most linen sold in India is short-staple, coarse, or quietly blended. Ours is 60 Lea, 100% European flax spun from long fibres and woven at heritage mills like Burgoyne and WFB Baird & Co., the same mills luxury labels source from.

60 Lea fineness

Finer yarn than the typical 40 Lea — it drapes softly instead of stiffening.

Breathes in 40°C

Linen releases heat and moisture faster than cotton. Built for Indian summers.

Gets softer with age

The only fabric that improves every time you wash it.

No blends, no shortcuts

100% flax. Nothing else on the label.

The honest math

Where does ₹7,000 for a linen shirt actually go?

When a premium label sells this shirt, up to 75% of what you pay is markup — retail margins, distributors,
brand overhead. The fabric and craftsmanship are a fraction of the tag.

A typical premium label₹6,999
Retail + distributor
Brand overhead
Fabric + making
~75% of the price never touches the shirt.
Maison X · factory direct₹2,499
Same fabric + same making
Fair overhead
Same European mills. Same 100% linen.

You just stop paying for the middle.

Direct from Factory

We didn't cut the middleman. We never had one.

Maison X is built by Thimblerr — a manufacturing company, not a marketing company. Your shirt is cut, stitched, and quality-checked at our own partner facility. Every seam is inspected before it ships, by the people who made it.

No licensing. No outsourcing mystery. When you buy from us, you're buying from the factory floor — and the price shows it.

Good questions

Everything people ask us.

Still not convinced? Ask AI.
Doesn't linen wrinkle?

It does — that lived-in texture is the signature of real linen, and part of why it looks better than a stiff formal shirt. Want it crisper? A 30-second steam does it. If a fabric never creases, it isn't pure linen.

How do I wash it?

Machine-wash cold on a gentle cycle, hang dry. It comes out softer every single time. No dry cleaning needed.

What does 60 Lea mean?

Lea measures yarn fineness. Most linen shirts use 40 Lea; 60 Lea means a finer, lighter yarn — softer hand-feel and better drape.

Is it really 100% linen?

Yes — 100% European flax with no cotton or viscose blending, woven at heritage mills including Burgoyne and WFB Baird & Co.

What's the fit like?

A relaxed everyday fit — classic collar, buttoned cuffs, slightly dropped shoulder. True to size; go one up if you prefer extra room.

Why is it so much cheaper than other linen brands?

Because we manufacture it ourselves and sell it directly to you. You're skipping the ~75% that usually goes to retail margins and brand overhead — not skipping quality.
